As we reported last week, Jack White (of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather) is guest starring on tonight’s season finale of ABC’s more adult, but still family friendly, revival of The Muppets. Last week we were treated to a clip from the episode of White and Kermit singing The White Stripes’ “Fell in Love With a Girl” (which is below again). It has now been announced that in tonight’s episode White and The Muppets’ house band Electric Mayhem will cover Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.” The song will be released digitally tomorrow via iTunes and TIDAL and White’s Third Man Records will also be releasing a 7-inch version. The B-side will be a cover of the song featuring vocals from the rest of The Muppets.

A press release describes White’s involvement in the episode as such: “After her stint in the hospital, Miss Piggy and Kermit reevaluate their relationship, and Kermit turns to Jack for help and advice.” The episode airs tonight at 8/7 Central. The Dead Weather’s third album, Dodge and Burn, was released last year via White’s own Third Man Records.

Earlier in the season Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters guest starred on The Muppets. Grohl had a drum off with Animal. While not quite as epic as the classic drum off between Animal and legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich, it was amusing to watch.
