My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a new solo album, Eternally Even, on November 4 via ATO. Previously James shared the album’s politically-charged first single, “Same Old Lie.” Now the song has a trippy video. The video is part of the “30 Days, 30 Songs” anti-Donald Trump campaign put together by author/publisher Dave Eggers and Death Cab for Cutie manager Jordan Kurland. The project will feature one song a day until election day and launched with Death Cab for Cutie’s anti-Trump song “Million Dollar Loan.” Watch the video below.

James issued a statement about Trump: “The fact that the United States is even remotely considering the idea of a Donald Trump presidency is so very, very disturbing. How has this bully who capitalizes on the destruction of humanity somehow been given a free pass? We need to be working for peace, love, and equality. We need to find new and better ways to take care of each other, to make this nation a place where all feel safe and welcome, regardless of race, sex, or creed. We can’t be ruled by the fear and hatred that Trump continues to push down our throats. Let’s sing our songs and cast our votes and work together to help make this country the center of peace and love that we all know it can be.”

Eternally Even is James’ second solo album, the follow-up to 2013’s Regions of Light and Sound of God. It was co-produced by James and Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes). A press release calls Eternally Even “a heart-thumping call to action” and points out that “the timing of its release, smack in the middle of election season, is no accident.”

One dollar from every ticket purchased for James’ U.S. tour will benefit My Morning Jacket’s Waterfall Project, which will donate to the following organizations: Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund, The Fairness Campaign, and Healthcare Now.

My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.
