Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and The Julie Ruin has teamed up with actor Tommy Buck for a cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s 1984 Born in the U.S.A. classic “Dancing in the Dark.” The cover features on the soundtrack to the new indie film Maggie’s Plan, which is directed by Rebecca Miller (daughter of Arthur Miller and wife of Daniel Day Lewis) and stars Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Julianne Moore, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader. The movie is due out this Friday, as is the soundtrack (via Milan Records), which also features Springsteen’s original, Peaking Lights, and a score by Michael Rohatyn. The Julie Ruin are releasing their new album, Hit Reset, on July 8 via Hardly Art. Listen to the cover below.
