Yesterday it was revealed that Box Of Stars,, a non-profit that raises awareness for mental health, was attempting to launch a tribute album for singer/songwriter Mark Linkous, a.k.a. Sparklehorse, who tragically committed suicide in 2010. Hoping to raise $50,000 for the crowdfunded compilation, titled Last Box of Sparklers, the group has already shared a cover of Linkous’ “Sad and Beautiful World” by The Flaming Lips. Hoping to gain even more donations they have also premiered a beautiful rendition of “Gold Day” by The Joy Formidable. Click below to listen and click here to learn more about the tribute album.
