Prince passed away at his home back in April. Today NPG Records and Warner Bros. Records are releasing a new best of, Prince 4Ever, which will include the previously unreleased song “Moonbeam Levels.” “Moonbeam Levels” was recorded in 1982 during the 1999 sessions. It was later considered for the never released Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album. ABC News did a live stream where super Prince fans got to hear the song for the first time at New York City’s Cutting Room Studios. It’s a vintage Prince ballad in all the best ways. Watch below to hear the song (it starts at around the 0:45 second mark) and see the reaction from the fans.

This is not the first time that I was so surprised to hear some wonderful tracks that were not released. And at times it had made me wonder why didn’t they released them at the first place. And if you know how the music industry works, these things can happen a lot.
