Mac DeMarco to Host Free Brooklyn BBQ Today, Shares BBQ Soundtrack

Mac DeMarco news galore! The most pressing DeMarco news is that today at 1 PM he is hosting a free BBQ, as he announced last night. It’s happening at 153 Morgan Ave. and DeMarco promises he’ll be playing unheard music from his car stereo. Said unheard music will likely include tracks from DeMarco’s new eight-song mini-album, Another One, which is due out on August 7 via Captured Tracks. He’ll be grilling hot dogs, but you’ll need to bring a food bank donation to get your hands on one.

Then this morning DeMarco released a “BBQ soundtrack” on Bandcamp titled Some Other Ones. It consists of nine instrumental tracks written and recorded July 4 - 8 in Queens. You can stream it below.

Back on Monday Complex posted a joint interview they filmed between DeMarco and Shamir, in which the two musicians played Jenga, ate popcorn, and chatted on a Brooklyn rooftop. You can watch that below.

Finally, as Stereogum points out, Ducktails (aka Real Estate’s Matt Mondanile) will likely soon be releasing a video for “Surreal Exposure” (from his forthcoming new album St. Catherine) and two clips posted to Domino Records’ Instagram account seem to indicate that DeMarco is guest starring in the video. Check out those two clips below too, including one where DeMarco asks Mondanile to get in the shower with him.

Don’t see why not… @mattmondanile @macdemarco #surrealexposure
