Owen Pallett Explains Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”
Music Theory to the Rescue!
Even though he’s got a new album on the way, Owen Pallett seems to be prepared to take on a new job description: music critic. After publishing an analysis of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” using music theory, today the violinist took on an even more arduous task—Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.”
You don’t need to have a musical degree to enjoy what Pallett has done. Read the whole analysis, which includes delightful phrases such as “It sounds off-balance and playful and sexy, like a foreign exchange student who might be a little drunk” over at Slate.
