Doe Paoro (aka Sonia Kreitzer) has shared a cover video of her stripped back new version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs” and we are pleased to premiere it. Kreitzer’s version really pulls back the layers to reveal the strained emotion and stark longing of the original track. Check out the video, as well as some info about an upcoming performance below.

On the decision to cover this track, Kreitzer had this to say: “I have always been shattered by this song, and when we recorded it I was in a moment in my personal life where it almost hit too close to home. I found a certain catharsis in singing it. These are lyrics I wish I’d written - eternal lyrics like ‘Time cast a spell on you but you won’t forget me, I know I could have loved you but you would not let me.’”

Doe Paoro’s most recent album, Soft Power, came out last October via ANTI-.

The video for “Silver Springs” was recorded by Zac Rae of Death Cab for Cutie, who also features on piano on the recording.

On May 30, Doe Paoro will be performing her material alongside a 10-12 piece all-female ensemble that includes a full string section at NYC’s National Sawdust. More info at the ticket link: https://nationalsawdust.org/event/the-hum-presents-doe-paoro-little-kruta/
