Blood Orange
Blood Orange (aka Devonté Hynes) released an acclaimed new album, Freetown Sound, back in June via Domino. Last night he stopped by Conan to perform both “Augustine” and “Thank You.” For the former he was seated at the piano, with two backing dancers behind him. For the latter he stood up to perform. Throughout framed photos of police shooting victims Terrance Mack, Philando Castile, and Hande Kader sat in front of his piano. Watch below.
Blood Orange’s Los Angeles show at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel tonight will be live streaming on Tidal. He’ll be performing the whole of Freetown Sound from start to finish, with special guests.
