Wonder Woman has been the biggest hit of the summer, the type of movie that people who rarely see movies in the theater even go out to, so it’s no surprise that the new trailer for Justice League opens with footage of Gal Gadot returning as Wonder Woman. Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice) was the director on Justice League, but left the project after the bulk of the filming was done due to the tragic suicide of his daughter. Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has stepped in to finish the movie and has been doing extensive reshoots, so who knows how much of the new trailer is Snyder footage and how much is Whedon footage. Judge for yourself below.

The highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation Justice League brings together DC’s biggest heroes and stars Ben Affleck (Batman) Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Jason Momoa (Aquaman). Not seen in the trailer is Henry Cavill (Superman), perhaps to maintain the mystery of his appearance after what happened to him at the end of Batman V Superman. The film is due out on November 17, 2017 via Warner Bros. Last July we posted the movie’s first teaser trailer, from last year’s Comic-Con, and in March we shared the second trailer.

The other big news at the DC Comics part of Warner Bros.’ Comic-Con panel is that they are planning a live action movie based on the 2011 Flashpoint comic book event series and that will likely be the basis for the long in the works Flash movie. In the comic book, The Flash (aka Barry Allen) goes back in time to stop his mother’s murder when he was a child, but in doing so rewrites history. When The Flash returns to the present, he no longer has his powers, Superman has been a captive of the U.S. government ever since landing on Earth, Atlantis (led by Aquaman) and the Amazons (led by Wonder Woman) are at war with each other, and Bruce Wayne was murdered in that alleyway, rather than his parents, leading to Bruce’s father, Thomas Wayne, becoming Batman. That would mean that Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan on The Walking Dead) could be Batman in the film, as he played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman. Lauren Cohan (Maggie on The Walking Dead) played Martha Wayne, who becomes The Joker in Flashpoint, so she could be a part of the movie too.

It was also revealed at Comic-Con that Whedon’s Batgirl movie would start shooting next year, that Geoff Johns was already at work on the script for Wonder Woman 2, and that the Shazam movie would not feature Dwayne Johnson as villain Black Adam (he’s being saved for a solo Black Adam film), but it could be the next DC film to go before the cameras. Other upcoming DC movie titles teased included Suicide Squad 2, Justice League Dark, Green Lantern Corps, and The Batman (to be directed by Matt Reeves, who directed the last two Planet of the Apes movies). As for the latter, Ben Affleck refuted rumors from earlier in the week that he might be out as Batman, confirming that he’s committed to play the part for Reeves’ planned trilogy of Batman films. There was no mention of Gotham City Sirens, a spinoff to feature Harley Quinn and two unnamed DC female characters (likely Catwoman and Poison Ivy if it follows the comics), or Man of Steel 2. Still, DC Comics fans have lots to look forward to.
