Nicolas Godin, one half of the French band Air, recently announced his debut solo album, Contrepoint, which is due out on September 18 via Because Music, with each song inspired by a different Bach composition. Now he has shared a video for “Widerstehe Doch Der Sünde.” The title translates to “stay away from sin” and the striking black & white video features surfing zombies no less. Watch the undead ride the waves, cavort on the beach, dance around an ocean side fire, and get surrounded by sharks. The Sacred Egg directed the video, it was produced by Riff Raff Films, and it stars South African surfing pros Michael February, Simone Robb, and Matthew Moir.
Godin commented on the video in a press release, saying: “Fascination for temptation, how could that be illustrated? I didn’t have a specific idea and The Sacred Egg came up with that unexpected one. And the beauty of this video says it all to me: these magnified surfing zombies riding sensual yet menacing waves, the thrill of that dangerous ‘ballet,’ perfectly echo what the song is about: fatal attraction for forbidden pleasures.”
