Last night The National stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform a cover of Grateful Dead’s “Morning Dew.” The cover can be found on Day of the Dead, the new Grateful Dead covers box set that features 59 tracks and six hours of music (it’s due out May 20 on 4AD). The compilation was spearheaded by The National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, with profits going to the HIV/AIDS charity Red Hot. Watch below.

Day of the Dead also features Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Courtney Barnett, ANOHNI, The War on Drugs, Bill Callahan, The Walkmen, Kurt Vile and J Mascis, Jenny Lewis, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Real Estate, Perfume Genius with Sharon Van Etten, Fucked Up, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, members of Grizzly Bear, Phosphorescent, Stephen Malkmus, Angel Olsen, Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, Yo La Tengo’s Ira Kaplan, Cass McCombs, Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry, Mumford and Sons, Charles Bradley, Local Natives, and more.
