What Are Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and Lady Gaga Working On?

Mark Ronson‘s massive hit fourth album, last year’s Uptown Special, included three songs that were co-written by and featured Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. So it’s not a huge surprise to see Ronson and Parker in the studio together again. More surprising is that they have been joined by pop superstar Lady Gaga. Ronson posted two photos to Instagram showing Parker and Gaga in the studio together, along with the producer BloodPop (formerly known as Blood Diamonds). Perhaps Ronson is working on his follow-up to Uptown Special? He must feel enormous personal pressure to match the huge success of that album and its main single, “Uptown Funk,” the biggest song of 2015 and First Lady Michele Obama’s favorite song. But he’s up to the task.

The captions simply say “Illusion” and “Crash,” so who knows what they are working on. But based on Parker and Ronson’s previous collaborations it’ll likely be something interesting. In the meantime, below is the joint video for two of the Uptown Special tracks that feature Parker, “Summer Breaking” and “Daffodils.” And below also are the two Instagram photos.

Tame Impala’s Currents is also out now. Also read our 2015 cover story article on Tame Impala and our bonus digital interview with Parker. And Ronson was interviewed in our the Best of 2015 issue and you can read that interview here.
