Yoko Ono has announced a new album, Warzone, and shared its title track. On Warzone the iconic musician reimagines 13 songs from her past work, including a new version of her late husband John Lennon’s peace anthem “Imagine.” Warzone is due out October 19 via Chimera (her son Sean Ono Lennon’s label) and features songs ranging from 1970 to 2009. Check out the new version of “Warzone” below, followed by the album’s tracklist and cover art.

Ono has long written protest songs and alas many of her past political lyrics are still valid today. As Ono says in a press release: “The world is so messed up. Things are very difficult for everybody. It’s a warzone that we are living in…. I like to create things in a new way. Every day things change.”

In the run up to the album, a new song will be released each Tuesday to Ono’s website (www.ImaginePeace.com) and on streaming sites.
