Yesterday, Phoebe Bridgers announced a new album, Lost Weekend, which is due out August 14 via Dead Oceans. Now, as promised, she has released its first single, “Lost Boys,” which features Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, Alex G, Jack Antonoff, Christian Lee Hutson, Blake Mills, and others. It is accompanied by a music video featuring Bridgers at a Renaissance faire taking part in Live Action Role Playing. More

Welcome to the 21st Songs of the Week of 2022. It was terrible week for those who follow the news, fueled by the truly awful mass shooting at the elementary school in Texas. And once again the usual gun control debates came up and once again nothing will probably happen. After all, it’s been 10 years since the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting and no progress has been made. Also Depeche Mode’s Andrew Fletcher and actor Ray Liotta (Goodfellas, Something Wild) both surprisingly died yesterday, even though they were both only in their 60s. More
