Records are releasing a new best of, Prince 4Ever, which will include the previously unreleased song “Moonbeam Levels.” “Moonbeam Levels” was recorded in 1982 during the 1999 sessions. It was later considered for the never released Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album. Prince has died. TMZ reports that the 57-year-old music icon was found dead this morning at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. This was also confirmed by a statement from his publicist. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but last week (on April 15) Prince was on a flight home from Atlanta when the pilot had to make an emergency landing to take Prince to hospital, reportedly because he had the flu. But he performed at a concert the next day. More

Back in May Prince released the fittingly titled song “Baltimore” in response to the death of Freddie Gray, who died in the custody of the Baltimore police department. Prince also performed a concert in Baltimore around the time of the protests about Gray’s death (protests which also devolved into riots). The song featured the vocals of Eryn Allen Kane.
