Arcade Fire
Maybe Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne was wrong. The folks from Arcade Fire seem pretty nice, to the point of being unrepentantly altruistic. While Win Butler and Co. slowly work on the follow-up to Neon Bible, the members of the Montreal indie-rock unit have signed 250 copies of the deluxe edition of the recently released Miroir Noir DVD for the Partners in Health charity.

All this week Jarvis Cocker is taking over the Galerie Chappe art gallery in Paris for musical performances, exercise classes, a photo exhibition, and all sorts. Today was children’s day, as French children traditionally have Wednesday’s off, and so we sent our Paris photographer Sophie Etchart down to the event to capture the madness.

The Shins
On Saturday night at Washington University, The Shins unveiled unexpected changes in their lineup. Keyboardist Marty Crandall has been replaced with Ron Lewis from Grand Archives and Fruit Bats, while drummer Jesse Sandoval’s place has been taken by Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse. The band are currently touring and are working on a new album.
