Everyone has nostalgia for something or some era and it’s often related to childhood. Charli XCX and Troye Sivan recently teamed up for the new song “1999,” which was not a Prince cover but a song that celebrated the ‘90s, the decade both artists were born in. Charli was seven in 1999, whereas Sivan was only four. Now the song has a pretty amazing video that references a ton of 1990s things, including Titanic, American Beauty, The Matrix, The Blair Witch Project, The Spice Girls, Marilyn Manson, Eminem, N*Sync, Aqua, and more, including featuring Charli dressed as Steve Jobs. Watch it below.

In May Charli XCX shared the new song, “5 in the Morning,” which was followed in June by a video for the song. Also in June she shared two more new songs, “Focus” and “No Angel.” In July the British pop singer/songwriter/producer shared another new song, “Girls Night Out.”

The songs follow December’s Pop 2 mixtape and last year’s hit single “Boys.”
