London-based shoegazers Cheatahs are back with their sophomore album and have shared the first single from it. Mythologies is due out October 30 via Wichita. Below you can stream its first single, “Seven Sisters.” The song features guest vocals from London musicians Liv Willars and Heather Perkins. The album is the follow-up to 2014’s self-titled debut album and the more recent EPs Sunne and Murasaki. They have already proven themselves to be one of the better modern shoegazer bands of late, let’s hope that continues with album number two.
A press explains that Mythologies was recorded in various locations, “including a monolithic high-rise next to MI5’s headquarters that once housed anti-terrorist units in the 1960s.” It also says that the album title takes its name from a collection of essays on semiotics and myth by Roland Barthes. Below is “Seven Sisters,” followed by the album’s tracklist, the band’s upcoming U.K. tour dates, and the album’s cover art. Also read our 2013 Pleased to Meet You interview with the band, our 2013 Artist Survey interview with them, and our 2014 interview with them on their debut album.
