Los Angeles duo Girlpool (Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad) have shared a brand new song, “Picturesong,” that features Blood Orange (aka Dev Hynes). It follows their sophomore album, Powerplant, released last May via ANTI-, and is being shared in honor of their February tour dates. Hynes contributes keyboards, guitars, and backing vocals to the song, as well as helping with the mixing. Listen below, followed by Girlpool’s upcoming tour dates.
The band had this to say about the song in a press release: “‘Picturesong’ is a word invented to explore what we create in each other when we want to feel deep love because of loneliness or otherwise, and brings into question the reality and delusion of the things we feel.”
Hynes offered this statement: “I’m such a fan of Girlpool, and loved working with them. Their harmonies are some of my favorites that are out there.”
