Britpop originators and survivors Suede are releasing their new album, Night Thoughts, on January 22, 2016. Now they’ve shared the first song from it, “Outsiders.” The album will also have an accompanying feature film directed by Roger Sargent (watch the trailer here) and the song is accompanied by slow motion visuals from the film, of a couple kissing underwater. Listen/watch below.
Suede made a fantastic comeback in 2013 with the release of the excellent Bloodsports, which was their first new album in over a decade and was very well-received by critics.
The Night Thoughts album and film will be premiered at two shows at London’s Roundhouse and November 13 and 14, in which the band will play the new album in full while the film is projected behind them. The album was produced by Ed Buller, who has previously produced all of their albums except Head Music and A New Morning. It was recorded in London and Brussels and features a full string section. It includes the song “I Don’t Know How to Reach You,” which was debuted live back in March at a Teenage Cancer Trust charity show.
Below is “Outsiders.” Also read our 2013 interview with Suede’s Brett Anderson.
