Luvcat Unleashes Darkly Seductive Single “Lipstick”

Inspired by Kink, Dolls, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

With her new single “Lipstick,” underground shapeshifter Luvcat invites us into a deliciously twisted daydream, a song where kink meets cabaret, devotion dances with danger, and the echoes of childhood fantasy get warped into something far more adult.

Fresh from a run of sold-out European shows, Luvcat drops what might be her most beguiling track to date. “Lipstick” is a noir-soaked confession, equal parts smoky Parisian elegance and streetwise Liverpool wit. Written after a chance encounter with a man who called her “doll” (he’d later play drums on the track), the song unfurls like a fevered monologue from a doomed romance.

“Lipstick is a song about love and kink. The desire to please and feel like a little doll to be played with, but shown tenderness and devotion in equal measure,” Luvcat explains. “It came from meeting a man who called me ‘doll’...”

The single arrives with a playfully unhinged visual, a wink to her childhood obsession with the “Doll on a Music Box” scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

“I used to dress up as her as a kid… a wind-up doll come to life to terrorize the town,” she says. “Some things never change, I guess.”

Since her explosive debut “Matador,” Luvcat has been busy building her own shadowy universe, a flickering stage show of doomed sailors, twisted fairytales, and cabaret heartbreak.
