SOFT PLAY Release New Single “Slushy” (Feat. Kate Nash), Announce Expanded Version of Last Album
Heavier Jelly Due Out April 18 via BMG
Mar 21, 2025
UK punk outfit SOFT PLAY have released a new single, “Slushy,” featuring Kate Nash. The single comes with the announcement of an expanded version of their last album, Heavy Jelly, titled Heavier Jelly, via BMG. Listen to “Slushy” and see the new album’s artwork and SOFT PLAY’s tour dates below.
SOFT PLAY is the duo Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman. Along with featuring Kate Nash, “Slushy” is also produced by Jolyon Thomas. The single is the first of six tracks released that will be on Heavier Jelly. Heavy Jelly was their fifth LP and released last year.
SOFT PLAY’s Laurie Vincent spoke on the album in a press release: “These songs are the bastard children of Heavy Jelly, strange experimentations/ delusions that didn’t fit the mould. I’m excited for our fans to get a glimpse into some more music that came from the world of Heavy Jelly. Strap in.”
Kate Nash most recently released her sixth full-length LP, 9 Sad Symphonies, in 2024.
The band will continue a line of North American tour dates, their first since 2018, beginning with two shows at Coachella in mid-April. They will continue by opening for Kneecap as well as playing a few headlining shows before returning to the UK and Europe for a few more festivals.
