Britpop legends Supergrass have announced a 20th anniversary reissue of their 2005-released fifth album, Road to Rouen, and shared the previously unreleased song, “Don’t Leave Me Alone.” The reissue is due out October 3 via BMG. Below, check out the song, followed by the reissue’s tracklist and the band’s upcoming tour dates.

The reissue will be released on “Gatefold 2LP Petrol and Forest Green vinyl with printed inner sleeves” and 2-CD digisleeve. Both will include liner notes written by Mark Radcliffe.

Supergrass are Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey, and Rob Coombes. The band were originally a trio, with Rob Coombes becoming an official member later.

Quinn had this to say in a press release: “From a lost winter in the French countryside we attempted an experimental, uplifting record far outside our comfort zone. Road to Rouen became a compact joy that still holds a cherished place in our hearts. Vive la différence.”

Supergrass previously announced some North American tour dates in honor of the 30th anniversary of their 1995 debut album, I Should Coco. They will be performing the album in its entirety at select shows this September, along with some other hits from across their catalogue. Check out the tour dates below.

Supergrass were one of the leading lights of the mid-1990s Britpop movement and I Should Coco made them instantly beloved in the UK, with its hit single “Alright” also garnering international attention (and still being featured in films, TV shows, and ads in more recent years—its video currently has 21 million views on YouTube).

You can read our interview with Supergrass on I Should Coco in our ’90s Issue last year (buy a copy here).

They originally broke-up in 2010 after releasing six albums: I Should Coco (1995), In It For the Money (1997), Supergrass (1999), Life On Other Planets (2002), Road to Rouen (2005), and Diamond Hoo Ha (2008). But they reformed in 2019 and shared a previously unreleased cover of The Police’s “Next to You.” Then in 2020 they released The Strange Ones 1994-2008, a career-spanning best of box set that included all six of their albums and five previously unreleased tracks, including “Next to You.” And then they played some shows.

In 2021 they released In It For the Money (Remastered Expanded Edition), a reissue of their 1997-released sophomore album.

Since Supergrass first broke-up its members have engaged in other projects, most notably frontman Gaz Coombes has released several well-received solo albums, including 2018’s World’s Strongest Man (which was our Album of the Week).
