U2 are releasing a new album, Songs of Experience, on December 1. Previously they shared a lyric video for the album’s first official single, “You’re the Best Thing About Me.” Now the song has a full on video. Jonas Åkerlund directed the clip, which features the band wandering around New York City, interacting with fans, and performing on a boat on the Hudson. There are also shots of American flags and the Statue of Liberty, so there appears to be some subtle comment on the current state of the American dream and President Trump’s immigration policies. “You’re the Best Thing About Me” followed two other Songs of Experience songs that the band have publically shared, both in a live setting. Last week the band shared a live performance video for a new song, “The Blackout,” which was filmed in front of a live audience of fans in Amsterdam. Previously the band performed Songs of Experience track “The Little Things That Give You Away” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The album will be the follow up to 2014’s Songs of Innocence, which was originally given away for free.
