Archie and his friends Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Reggie have gotten a lot hipper in recent years, in part thanks to the darker version of their story and characters in Riverdale (and the well-received CW TV adaptation). In October a new comic book series, The Archies, will feature Archie and his friends in a band on tour. And each issue will feature a guest appearance by a different real life band. The first band announced for this is Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES. As MTV News reports, the band will make their debut in issue #2, but will have a larger role in issue #3, where they will mentor the band. Below is a MTV News video announcing this that includes artwork of the band.

The Archies comes from writers Alex Segura and Matt Rosenberg, with art by Joe Eisma. Segura had this to say to MTV News about getting CHVRCHES involved: "One of the first bands Matt and I thought of was CHVRCHES just because they've got such a modern, fun vibe and we're both fans of the music."

CHVRCHES released their well-received second album, Every Open Eye, in 2015 via Glassnote (it was #9 on Under the Radar's Top 100 Albums of 2015 list). Back in February we reported that the band had started work on their third album and were working with Dave Stewart of iconic 1980s duo Eurythmics.

CHVRCHES were on the cover of one of our print issues in 2015 and you can read the in-depth 8-page 5,600-word cover story feature on the band here. You can also read our bonus digital magazine Q&A with them here.

I fully support your opinion. Alex Segura and Matt Rosenberg are excellent writers, I respect their work.
I’m still in college, but I want to be an essay writer too.
I really like the WritingCheap company.
In the future, I would like to cooperate with them.
