Lower Dens has covered Daryl Hall and John Oates’ 1982 classic “Maneater” (from their H2O album). The cover will appear on a new charity album, The Time Is Now, which is due out October 7 via Republic/Mass Appeal and benefits amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research). Lower Dens previously covered the song live last year for a Sirius XMU radio session.

The compilation also features Phantogram covering Phil Collins, Metric taking on The Church, Aloe Blacc singing Michael Jackson, and a rendition of New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” by Sugar For Sugar (the new band featuring Scarlett Johansson, Julia Haltigan, Holly Miranda, and Kendra Morris). The full tracklist is below, as well as the cover art. Also below is Lower Dens’ “Maneater” cover, followed by Hall & Oates’ original video for the song and Sugar For Sugar’s New Order cover.

Lower Dens latest album, Escape From Evil, came out last year via Ribbon Music.
