Premiere: High Tides Share Vivid New Video for “Paradise Daze”
Paradise Daze Released March 8 via Rad Cult
High Tides, the Malibu-based experimental psychedelic pop duo, have shared their luminescent new video for their title track off of their new album Paradise Daze and we are pleased to premiere it. The video is a point-of-view journey through a fauvist dreamscape that features ruins, alien colored foliage, and extraterrestrial architecture. The song itself is the music that lizards might lounge to after the sun goes down, breezy and evolving, a heavy hand in the chillwave pocket and two fingers dipped in trip hop. Check out the link to the video, album art, as well as some upcoming tour dates below.
Warren Kroll of the duo had this to say about the video in a statement to Under the Radar: “When Steve [Lutes] and I first started putting together a list of who we would love to collaborate with on a video, Vinyl Williams was at the top. We were both big fans of his music and visual art and really thought his aesthetic would work well with ours… We picked the title track because it encapsulates the whole vibe of the record in one song. Aside from Vinyl piecing in some of the album art, he just took the visuals on his own personal journey which is exactly what we love about his style. Nautical, tropical, psychedelic and vibrant, that is the world of Paradise Daze.”
High Tides consist of Warren Kroll and Steve Lutes. Their newest, Paradise Daze, comes a whole four years of refining after their self-titled debut. The album was released earlier this month on Rad Cult, Tobacco of Black Moth Super Rainbow’s label, with whom the group will be touring later this month for a brief run of dates.
