We’re a little over a week away from our trek to Utrecht, Netherlands to check out Le Guess Who? festival. To help us create a soundtrack to pack to, we asked a few of the artists performing at the fest to create a mix featuring some of their favorite bands. We’ve already heard one from Ought. The next one in the series comes from SUNNS. They call it “In Touch” and it has a very specific theme.

“Here’s a mix that was inspired by our forthcoming collaboration with Jerusalem In My Heart,” says drummer Liam O’Neill. “Or here’s a mix that inspired our forthcoming collaboration with Jerusalem In My Heart. It doesn’t matter actually. It’s really a kind of letter to our dear friend, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, forever out at sea. There’s music that reminds me of our project together, music that reminds me of him, (lots of) music that he turned me on to, music we’ve gotten excited about at the same time, music that I think he’d like if he doesn’t know it already (which he definitely does), music by some of his friends, music by some of our friends too, all organized in a Radwan-esque manner: nothing too blunt (one of the truest faces of disgust I’ve ever seen was his upon hearing George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord”), and comprised of many excerpts, larger ideas that only have time to show up and say hi for a second due to scheduling and time constraints. Imagine Fripp & Eno’s “Evening Star” eating while standing up at the sink and talking on the phone. A bit weird. Glossy texture and cool vibe figure heavily, but after spending some time with it you see that it’s made of something more earthy than you thought. It doesn’t just buy you a Negroni Sbagliato and talk to you about film; it will be a good friend too.”
