Watch Tegan and Sara Play Tug of War in “Hell” Video
Plus: Behind the Scenes Featurette
Oct 26, 2009 Tegan and Sara
As revealed in our in the studio interview with Tegan and Sara this past summer, the indie-rock twins’ eagerly awaited sixth LP—Sainthood—is out October 27th. Now that we’re on the eve of the full-length’s release, they’ve decided to release a video for the debut single “Hell.”
In the Jamie Travis-helmed clip, the Quin twins (try to say that three times fast) in adjacent hotel suites. They fool around with a bunch of Sainthood cover-like artwork to stick their heads in, a game of tug of war through the wall, an elaborate coottie catcher, a kaleidoscope, lots of briefcase money, and a mummy that looks like the ones from the Travis-directed video for “Back In Your Head.” “Hell” is a kinectic, old school music video (yes, they still make those) that matches well with the frenetic pace these two young ladies keep in the studio and on the road. Their new rockabilly pompadours are pretty slick too. The second video below is a behind the scenes featurette by Angela Kendall for the shoot.
Speaking of the road, the Quin sisters still have that 2010 tour as well. (via Stereogum)
