A new one-day festival, Pasadena Daydream Festival, has been announced. It is headlined by goth legends The Cure and the lineup was also curated by the band. Hence it’s no surprise that the rest of the bill features Mogwai, Deftones, Pixies, The Twilight Sad, and other artists that The Cure’s Robert Smith has championed in the past and/or also put on other shows he’s curated. The lineup also features Throwing Muses, The Joy Formidable, Chelsea Wolfe, Emma Ruth Rundle, and Kælan Mikla.

Pasadena Daydream Festival happens August 31 at the Brookside at the Rose Bowl, in Pasadena, CA (which is in the greater Los Angeles area). Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 17 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time. Find out more info here.

The Cure were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The band is said to be working on a new album. Last year Smith curated the Meltdown Festival in London, which also featured Deftones and Mogwai, alongside Nine Inch Nails, My Bloody Valentine, Manic Street Preachers, and others.
